Abigail Jones - HIRED!
I would love to be able to show up daily and teach students the value of being physically active and gaining a sense of togetherness with their schoolmates.
Eddie Szeto - HIRED!
PE has a major role to play in our young students as it allows them to release their bountiful energy in a constructive way, learn important team-building skills, develop discipline, and importantly, set and achieve personal goals.
Through my experiences, I have had the opportunity to work with many types of children and develop a passionate and energetic approach to encourage their involvement in sports.
Sports and physical activities continues to play a large role in the up keeping of my body, mind and spirit. I would appreciate nothing more than to be able to share that love with these students.
My students will know the importance of being physically active, form healthy eating habits, understand and accept diversity, be team players as well as leaders, and develop physical literacy.
PE is a great opportunity for kids to challenge themselves and try things that may seem difficult, and I hope that my students are all able to test themselves and learn that new or hard skills and activities are completely possible to achieve.
As a Physical Education teacher I hope my students will understand the importance of their health and leading an active lifestyles in which they meet their fitness needs. I hope to encourage them to lead healthy lifestyles whether it comes to their nutritional choices or physical activity.

I believe as educators, to truly impact lives, we must strive to engage and cultivate relationships with our students.
I hope for my students to acquire skills that they will keep with them for their entire lives. Basic skills like throwing a ball, knowing the rules to a game, and most importantly how to remain active throughout their lives, I feel to be invaluable.
As a physical education teacher in a high need elementary school I hope to help my students achieve lifelong fitness habits. I hope to help my students improve their cognitive and social skills as well!
Kimberly Rodriguez - HIRED!
Physical education is much more than playing sports, it is an opportunity for students to develop key life skills.
No matter what school community I join, I want to make a major impact on my students by helping them integrate physical activity and exercise into their everyday lives.
Getting the chance to teach would be so rewarding because I would get to help my students achieve something that I value as being so significant. Physical education is critically important to the children of our city.

I am excited to combine my background in school counseling and passion for physical fitness as a PE teacher because I deeply believe that physical, emotional, and mental wellness are all interconnected. I firmly believe that all students have intellectual, physical, and cultural assets that they bring to school every day, and I plan to create a classroom culture that ensures that all students can and will achieve.
I believe that learning physically active skills and awareness of the body are crucial for young children to build a foundation for a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude.
Kristine Fox-Rivera - HIRED!
Ultimately, if I can get the students to enjoy physical activity they will be more likely to participate in it regularly and all the other fitness goals will be met. Being from the south Bronx I personally understand the negativity that surrounds high need schools. Through physical education I would like to provide students with the tools to turn the negativity into positivity.
Physical Education provides an opportunity for children to learn life lessons and ultimately lead to a happier and healthier life. PE is also very important to help children to learn how to follow directions, be team players, and leaders at a very young age.

Christina Edwards - HIRED!
As a physical education teacher, I hope my students will be able to achieve their fullest potential physically, emotionally, socially and mentally.
Janice Okeke - HIRED!
I believe the elementary years of a student’s life are one of the most critical time points to intervene and help students develop habits and skills that are imperative to their overall well-being.
I am excited to be in this leadership role where my primary responsibility is to educate young minds about the importance of physical activity through engaging and well-designed lesson plans.
Lauren Chicolo - HIRED!
As a PE teacher, I want to create an inclusive environment where my students feel empowered to take ownership of their learning. I hope to instill values of positive self-image and confidence.
Physical education provides the opportunity for students to develop their capacity in all areas as it teaches discipline and determination. Students who learn the benefits and discipline of PE are able to transfer those skills into their academic experiences.
I want to show students who may walk different paths in life, that they can be successful and healthy, regardless of where they come from. Creating a safe space for children, to focus on staying active and healthy has been a dream of mine since I was a young child.
